A Tribute of Respect And Remembrance For India’s Martyrs – Bharat Maa Shaheed Samman Trust by Nationalist Sanjay DalmiaFebruary 21, 2019
Well-known for his nationalism and philanthropy, Sanjay Dalmia, Chairman of the Dalmia Group of Companies and former Member of Parliament laid the foundation of ‘Bharat Maa Shaheed Samman Trust’. It is mainly aimed at facilitating the freedom fighters who played a pioneering role in India’s freedom struggle.
Sanjay Dalmia firmly believes that people who gave this nation its freedom should never be forgotten. Glorifying the efforts of freedom fighters, he says, “India’s independence was hard fought. The colonial rulers dictated us for a very long time. Then there were these heroes who stood up and fought for the country’s honour, even at the cost of surrendering their very lives. They petrified the rulers with their patriotic zeal and sovereignty. The country is proud of the heroism and service of the armed forces”.
The Bharat Maa Shaheed Samman Trust extends financial support to the dependents of the martyrs for education and livelihood. It also organised a musical programmer of patriotic songs —Bharat Maa Gaurav Sandhya, for instilling a sense of pride and gratification among the young guns of the society.
“For our nation to emerge as a super power we need to revive the spirit of patriotism in the country. Passion for the betterment of the country should be in the heart of each and every individual,” says Mr Sanjay Dalmia.
Through Bharat Maa Shaheed Samman Trust, Sanjay Dalmia also urges people to contribute for the welfare of the families of these brave fighters.
“As a responsible citizen of India, it is our duty to give back to the nation in whatever ways we can. And, the real respect and gratitude for our greatest freedom fighters is not just by keeping their name in the history books, but by looking after their family. That family, over whom they choose the nation, they expect the nation to take care of that family. Thus, serving their families and ensuring their welfare becomes our prime duty,” says Mr Dalmia.
