Things a True Christian Do Every DayJune 1, 2018
To be a Christian without prayer is no more possible than to be alive without breathing. – Martin Luther
Though there is not a legal to-do-list for a Christian to define themselves as believers, a true Christian should do certain things to stay in faith.
Here are some
Prayers are like sharing personal time with God. While praying, an individual blocks out the distractions of the world and concentrate all attention specifically on the Creator. By connecting God every day through prayers, a Christian puts himself/herself in a better frame of mind to deal with day-to-day activities.
It is something all Christians should look forward. After all, it is the Almighty who protects human to go out to the world and live their faiths. Missing this step means our faith can become superficial.
Church invites Christians to worship with their community members. A church exists to change lives by leading people to love God, people, and life. They should be an indispensable part of a Christian. When was the last time you have visited local churches near me? A worship experience with diverse & passionate music will leave you energized and inspired to the rest of the day.
Plenty of things happen in your life that can make you bitter from inside. However, being a Christian, it is essential that you understand what you were called to – be different. Rather than immersing yourself in the negatives, it is important to be thankful every day. We often underestimate the importance of this step. A thankful heart drives you to the good things God has bestowed on your life rather than missed opportunities and unfortunate circumstances. It also enables you to witness others and answer to mankind’s problems.
Being thankful to God is like generating positive feeling within yourself which forces you to think all about the goodness of your life.
Jesus tells us “For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.”
A forgiving heart is a quality that doesn’t come naturally to humans. It takes time and practice to forgive people each and every day. However, once you develop this habit, it becomes your nature, like any other good habit.
We need to develop the habit of forgiving others. In our sinful hearts, we always look for flaws in others, expecting complete forgiveness from others being ignorant of our shortcomings. We cannot expect forgiveness from others until we are ready to give it to others.
Reflect on our sinfulness
Being a Christian means should be aware of our inherent sinfulness. It means that you need to own up to what you have done wrong in the past and present. We cannot truly appreciate the need of the Almighty until we have realized the true depth of our sinfulness. By doing so, we don’t need to focus on just specific sins but the overall state of the heart. It includes all evil and selfish desires, revealing the true state of our hearts. No matter, how righteous we pretend to be or actually are, God is aware of the true state of our heart.
Realizing our sinful nature is the beginning of true worship of God.
We always stay busy in our lives and problems despite of people with needs all around us. Until you are a social worker, it is impractical to spend all the day helping others with problems. But you can easily choose one to two people every day.
These are some of the things a true Christian always follows.
